Orthotics or custom insoles are used in order to support the different arches of the foot. This helps the foot move correctly with the different loads that life places on our bodies.
The process starts with having a cast of the foot made which provides a 3D picture of the shape of your foot.
The physiotherapist will then make decisions about what features need to be added to your orthotic in order to achieve the best result from your insole. This information and your casts are then sent to a manufacturing facility that will produce your custom orthotic.
